Rome, GA. Local racing team, Action Motorsports, sets June 23 as tenative start date for 2007 season. "We think that is the best time to start", stated driver Scooter Allison when questioned about the unusual start date. "We are expecting our first baby in late April, so that is keeping us pretty focused right now - that's the primary reason. Secondly, the Lucas Oil Dirt Series will be at NGS the week before, on Friday, June 15. Hopefully that big event will allow us some transition time." The June start up date for Allison and the Action Motorsports Team will not be the first time the Larry Smith Automotive Machine Shop number 59 has toured the Chatsworth facitlity. Allison competed for the track championship in both 2000 and 2001, in which he finished third in overall standings both years. "We don't really consider this a 'rookie season'", explained Team Represenative Bethany Allison. "We are moving up to the Late Model Sportsman division, but because we are only running select races we're not looking at it as a season - more as a testing session. With these cars there is a lot to learn, so we are using 2007 to help with that learning curve."
